Addison Red Raspberry
Addison is a new primocane fruiting release from 5 Acres Breeding in Maryland. The plant gives good floricane production as well in zones 5 and warmer. Plant size is compact making it a good choice for growing in smaller containers (3-5 gal size). Berries are deep red in color, medium to large sized, with high sugar content and aromatic flavor. This is one of the few cultivars that has a wide growing range, and should perform well throughout the west coast, and East and Gulf coasts. Addison is suitable for greenhouse or high tunnel growing.
Field observations by breeder and growers have shown Addison to be resistant to Botrytis rot. Primocane fruiting begins in late July for zone 5, and floricane fruiting occurs in early June to late June here at our farm (zone 5b).
