Organic Japanese Honeyberry Collection #2
Quart Size pots
This Collection of Honeyberries has 4 different cultivars of Japanese origin. These plants have a much later bloom date than the Canadian/Russian selections in Collection #1. This helps them to avoid late frost damage to blooms in areas that have very wayward temperature swings in April. We have very wild temp swings here in Indiana, so these Japanese types have done better than the Canadian/Russian types. The berries are very delicious. They don’t need acidic soil pH like blueberries. Instead they prefer soil pH above 5 and below 7.3, so they grow well in the range of soils found throughout most of the continental U.S. The Japanese selections are not as cold hardy as the Canadian/Russian selections.
