Blackberry Starter Collection #1:
Season Long Sampler Pack of 4, quart size plants.
This Collection contains 4 cultivars that cover the range of ripening times for blackberries in USDA zones (5*)6-9. Each cultivar will be unique with no duplicates in the collection (so one will be getting 4 different cultivars in each collection). The 4, quart size plants (fully rooted) will be selected FROM the following cultivars:
Prime Ark Freedom (upright, primocane bearing type, not included for USDA zone 5)
Prime Ark Traveler (upright, primocane bearing type, not included for USDA zone 5)
Osage (upright, early season type)
Ouachita (upright, early season type)
Natchez (a trailing, early season type)
Apache (upright, mid season type)
Arapaho (upright mid season type)
Triple Crown (a trailing, late season type)
For USDA growing zones 6-9. *Can be grown in zone 5, but Freedom or Traveler will likely not survive well and yield fruit unless it has winter protection and season extension in the fall to ripen the crop. I have grown Traveler as a potted blackberry (12 gal pot) and kept it overwintered in the greenhouse with my figs and lemons. It had done very well and made excellent blackberries as a potted plant.
