Powderblue Rabbiteye Organic Blueberry Plant
Introduced by North Carolina State in 1978, Powderblue is one of the oldest rabbiteye cultivars still available. Yield is between 8-14# of berries on a mature bush, which is a moderate grower and easy to prune. It is also an old school, heirloom rabbiteye, growing to a mature height of 8-12′ tall and 6-8′ wide!! This is a BIG bush and beautiful with its small, blue-green leaves. Excellent fall colors can range from yellow to orange. When planting this one, make sure your prepared area is a bit larger (4’x4′) than we recommend in the planting guide. In south Georgia, Powderblue will ripen between late June through July; in Kentucky ripening will be between late July to August. Best fruit yield will be seen when planted near the below cultivars.
Pollinated by Columbus, Onslow and/or DeSoto.
