Description
Bristol Heirloom Black Raspberry
2-gallon pot
NEW for 2019 Available in Mid to Late May 2019
Bristol was introduced in 1934, one of the first generation selections that was done with wild black raspberry. Bristol ripens earlier in the season, ahead of Jewel and more concurrent with the wild black raspberries. The berries are smaller than Jewel, but are also less prone to “bleeding” after picking. Like all black raspberry, Bristol needs regular pruning to keep the canes in line. I’ve not seen any disease issues with Bristol, and I have a neighbor that has been growing them for many years with no issues.
