Sunshine Blue Southern Highbush Organic Blueberry Plant
Sunshine Blue is a great, compact grower, and high yielding. Mature plant size is 3-4 feet tall and wide, with an upright habit. Evergreen in its southern range, Sunshine Blue is also quite cold-hardy, successfully growing into USDA zone 6 (where it is semi-deciduous). This cultivar yields 4-8 pounds of sweet, medium-sized berries on a mature plant. Berries can be picked over a 3-5 week period. Sunshine Blue is also self-pollinating, though slightly higher yields (and larger berries) can be realized with cross-pollination from another cultivar. Sunshine Blue is also an excellent cultivar for small decks, and grows well at maturity in a pot size that is at least 10 gallons in size (as opposed to larger highbush that need a 25 gal size pot to perform well).
Hardy in USDA zones 6b to 10.
