Sunset is a great raspberry that has deep, blush orange colored berries that are reminiscent of the color found in beautiful sunsets. But more importantly than the color (which is unique) is the flavor: very sweet with a rich, raspberry aroma. I was surprised by the flavor of this novel plant, but my children (especially my then 6 year old son) devoured them the first year we harvested a crop. It was hard for me to get fruit out to official samplers, as my kids were haunting the Sunset row. But as most of us grow berries for our kids, I can (and they can) recommend this cultivar highly. Sunset bears fruit on the primocane about the same time as Autumn Britten, so it is a higher producer for zone 4 and 5 than Anne would be, if you are looking for a non-red raspberry with decent yields in the north.
