Self-Pollinating Cultivar

These cultivars are self-pollinating, which means that just one plant alone will produce fruit.  Some collections are listed here as well, as they all work together to provide pollination to each other.  For blueberries that are self-pollinating, they can get larger blueberries when crossed with another cultivar.  Most northern highbush are considered partially self-pollinating, in that they will set a crop of blueberries alone with no other cultivars present.  When more than one northern highbush cultivar is present for cross pollination, one can see up to a 15% increase in fruit set and berry size.
